The final Cross Table is listed below. Posted 04/13/2012. Congrats to Edil Karabiev (Rysal) for his fine performance over these many weeks. His composure and sportmanship during and after play makes him a true champion!
The 2012 Springfield Park Board Chess Club Championship will be held between February 3rd and April 30th.
The first round begins Friday night, February 3rd. All rounds need to be completed by April 30th. (Games should be played on Friday nights so the TD can be present to resolve disputes. It is permissible to play two rounds on the same Friday or arrange a match during the week away from the club.)
The round robin format will be used with an entry fee of $10, which includes membership to the club for 2012. In the event that we have a huge turnout, the Swiss format may be used.
Please contact the club via the website or at the Club so we can begin pairings.
All USCF eligible games will be rated. Those who are not USCF members are still eligible to win the city championship However, if a participant cannot complete all the rounds, then all games played will be rated (if they can be), but for tournament purposes, all the games played by the person who does not finish will be declared as forfeit losses and that participant cannot win the championship.
Time limit is game in 60 minutes with no delay.
Joe Brozovich, the club's President, will direct the tournament. Please let us know if you plan to compete so pairings can be made for February 3rd. 2012 marks the Club's 40th Anniversary!
